Lotte Berk was a dancer for many years before developing her exercise system in the 1950's, and the technique has been evolving ever since. Class involves a centre warm-up, barre and floor exercises. It is designed to use and tone the whole body. By doing the micro movements, you really start to feel the muscles working, and you will see results within a couple of weeks.
The classes are for age 16 plus, and you will need to wear comfortable clothing and socks, or bare feet.
You will also need an exercise mat, a soft exercise ball or cushion, strap or belt, and two 1kg-hand weights or a couple of 500ml water bottles.
Private classes are a good place to start if you have any injuries or aches and pains that need extra attention. They can also allow you to train more intensely if you have an event coming up, whether that be for a sporting competition, dance performance, film shoot, or even a wedding.
