Beginners Ballet-_640x360.mp4Rob's beginner ballet class helps you understand the fundamentals of ballet. Personal correction is given during class, which improves your technique and ability to tackle choreography.
Many classes give you steps but don't explain how to achieve them properly. I will take you through the movements in detail, while still giving you a class that feels like you've danced.
For clothing, just begin with something comfortable and thick socks. Also check that you have enough room to lift your arms and legs to the front, back, and sides. A smooth floor is preferable, and then just something to hold onto. The back of a chair can work as your barre.
For us to see each other well, a laptop or tablet on a stand works best. Place your device far enough away from you so all of you can be seen on your screen.
Private classes are a safe place to start if you are recovering from injury or want to focus on elements of technique e.g. improving turn-out, achieving a higher grand battement, head position in pirouttes. They are also the best place to begin if you are completely new to ballet.
